Castle Peak

Castle Peak, also known as Escorpion Peak, is a 1,475 foot rocky peak in the San Fernando Valley. It is a short distance from the Pacific Ocean. This is a great place to view the surrounding San Gabriel Mountains. Despite the name, this isn’t the highest point on the mountain. The actual high point is located on a ridge stretching west from Castle Peak.

You’ll find a lot of hiking trails and hiking sites around Castle Peak. However, you won’t find any trails to the top. As a result, the climb to the top is a fun and challenging activity for adults and children alike.

To get to the summit you’ll have to climb and scramble a lot of rocks. But the top does have panoramic views of the surrounding areas. On a clear day, you can see the Santa Monica and the Santa Susana mountains. If you are a fan of the outdoors, this is a place to visit.

Another interesting feature of this neighborhood is its sense of community. People who live here look out for each other, making it an easy place to make friends. There are also several shops, restaurants and parks within walking distance.

A nice home is definitely worth looking into in this neighborhood. Castle Peak Estates offers four bedrooms and 2,662 square feet of living space. The master suite is roomy and has two walk in closets. Several of the other bedrooms are nicely sized as well. Some of the features of the home include an upgraded kitchen, recessed lighting, crown molding and dual pane windows.

There’s a small circular mountain bike area along the upper Moores Canyon. Other features include a long grass field and a sandbox. There are several other trails nearby, including a new one that links with the Bell Canyon Trail.

The home is also on two lots, making it a very private property. There’s a garage with direct access to the house, and a separate laundry room. Besides the obvious, the home boasts a gourmet kitchen with granite counters, a built in entertainment center, travertine floors, and a formal dining room.

While the home does not have a slew of amenities, the area has something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a new home or a retirement spot, Castle Peak is an ideal destination. With a mix of young and old, the community is a friendly place to visit.

There’s even a drinking fountain! Thanks to Measure A funding, the neighborhood recently received a nice refresh, including a newly paved pathway, a large puddle-free play area, and a new picnic table. In fact, this is a great place to go if you’re in the mood to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Of course, the biggest reason to visit Castle Peak is to see the views. Not only are the surrounding San Gabriel and Simi Hills a sight to behold, but the nearby Pacific Ocean is a treat as well.
